Since 1945, the U.S. military has launched at least a half-dozen initiatives to eliminate racial inequalities, understanding that diversity makes our country and our military even stronger.

The United States Military Academy at West Point spans our country’s history and, as such, reflects many social changes in America. Recently, West Point celebrated the 5,000th woman to graduate from the Academy, as well as its 1,000th Jewish graduate.

Watch Diversity in the Long Gray Line, a short, award-winning film directed and produced by Les Owen and Treehouse Dreams Films, to learn more about the Academy in its continued march toward diversity. Les Owen is the Video Producer and Contract Manager at Arlington National Cemetery, and the husband of AAFMAA Member and Survivor Benefits Manager, Lyne Babin.
