Where do I begin? Perhaps our first date will do our relationship justice and express our dire need of a little….free time
My husband and I met on the side of a dusty road just outside of Tikrit, Iraq while we were deployed together. His truck had broken down in a “bad part of town” which really means anywhere in the country….
I slowed to a stop when I saw the blowout and my TC and I radioed up to let the convoy know, we were in trouble.
I hesitated before jumping from the cab, I wouldn’t had I known my prince was in that next truck. I hesitated because I was afraid, as many soldiers are. Would this be the last time I leapt from a vehicle? Would I feel sunshine and heat like this again? I let those thoughts flow through me but as my the dust on my boots was knocked off by the ashphalt below….I heard his voice.
“Can you help me?”
I replied…
“Always”
This was a code of a honor among soldiers, we never leave a man behind and we gladly give our dying breath for those who need it to breath. I didn’t realize that when I said anything….I meant always.
We have been together ever since and were married December of 2011. He deployed to Afghanistan a few days later. We have battled our personal demons and navigated the difficult journey of a military marriage…but here we are. Strong as ever.
Two days ago my husband left me in Texas to take a job in Montana. He packed up everything we have built together to start a new civilian life for us in Montana. I have to stay behind for financial reasons but I hope to join him soon. I plan to keep my very first promise to him. Anything…and everything.
Our anniversary is coming up and I would love to be able to buy him something or surprise him with a date night.
He deserves it more than anyone, and I want to give it to him. He is a brave and loving man who has sacrifices so much – that’s why we deserve a date night.
It’s been years since my husband and I were able to go out to dinner without the kids. And between his work schedule and my chronic illnesses that keep me in the hospital we hardly ever get back to the basics of he and I.
My husband an I would love to have a date night. We just welcomed our fourth child a few weeks ago an before that we haven’t had the time or money to go out. We live in a state were we have no family an few friends. With having three kids an a new born it is super expensive to find a sitter an still have the money to able to go out. It would be so nice to be able to go out just for one night with out any worries.
My husband & I are celebrating our 16th wedding anniversary on Friday! We have twin boys that are 10 so I would love to spring a surprise on my airman with a free date night! Thank you for the chance!
My husband has been deployed since may 2014. When he left our son just turned 1 & I was 6 months pregnant. He will be returning 11/24/14 and will meet our daughter for the first time. We need a special night together to reconnect as a couple and as a family. This has been very difficult for me especially with the babies & he deserves it for the work he has done in honor of our country
