If you’re trying to slim down after having a baby or just because you think you’ll feel better a few pounds lighter, you might find that those last couple pounds are the hardest. Here are a few quick tips to keep you on track, overcome the fitness and weight loss plateau, and even help you step up your game to achieve your weightloss and fitness goals.
Also remember that you should be less focused about what’s on the scale and more focused on the way you feel!
Plan ahead
In a rush? It’s so easy to swing by that oh so sinfully delicious fast food place, and you KNOW you shouldn’t. Planning your meals will help you avoid that temptation and help keep your nutrition right where it needs to be. Each weekend, plan the next week’s healthy menu. Allow yourself a little wiggle room; life’s too short to go without a brownie here and there. Just remember, the more organized you are, the more likely you are to successfully achieve those goals.
Remember moderation
High-protein, low-carb diets will definitely give you the results you’re looking for, especially if you’re hitting the gym or dedicating time to some challenging exercises. But, remember that your body needs a variety of vitamins and minerals. Enjoy fresh fruit and whole grain foods. Don’t cut them out of your life completely. The goal isn’t to deprive your body of all carbs and sugars – give your body what it needs to function at its best!
Work it!
Exercising will help you out in so many ways! Not only are you burning calories, toning muscles and helping your heart, working out will help you get better sleep and reduce stress. Working hard to stay trim and fit will also make you mindful of what you’re putting into your body. Don’t want to work harder a the gym? Don’t go crazy on those chocolate cupcakes or drinks out with your friends. Again…moderation.
These 3 basic tips all feed into one another. Be conscious of what you’re eating, how you’re eating and how to stay on track with your workouts. Focus and dedication. You can do it!
