Volunteering fulfills a wide range of needs within us, from balancing out our life, to teaching our children, or kick-starting our career. For example, if you’re trying to start a career or ramp it back up, volunteering may be a good starting point. Although it takes your time and doesn’t provide you a check, it does show potential employers that you have a passion to help others. It also helps balance out your resume and gives it more depth. Employers look for someone who is well-rounded and has an array of different experiences.
And who knows, maybe you can meet Mr. Eye-Candy Matthew McConaughey one day!
