By: Jessica Fairley Fox 31 News Marines from the Marine Corps Logistics Base Albany stopped by Lee County Middle School Thursday afternoon to get in a good workout and give advice to some teens. The marines led the school’s soccer team in a workout of calisthenics. After sweating through jumping jacks and Marine Corps floor exercises, the men talked to the athletes about team unity. One marine says middle school can be a tough time and children have to stay focused. “We talked a little bit about the military but in general we talked about making good choices and deciding how to decide to do the right thing and resisting peer pressure that they might face,” said Stephen Sutton, Chief Warren Officer for the Albany Marine Corps Logistics Base. The team of students plans to write thank you letters to the marines for their dedication to serving the community.
