Resonance Experiment Goes Viral

In the 5 days since this science experiment was posted to YouTube, it has gathered over 2.1 million views. That’s pretty impressive considering that the stars of this video are a metal plate, tone generator, speaker and sand.  But the video itself really is impressive! As the tone frequencies increase, the geometric designs become more complex. These designs are known as Chladni patterns in physics.
