Throwing a party to celebrate the season? Whether you’re the host, guest or just looking for a new recipe to try, as temperatures get warmer and outdoor activities increase, the light, cool flavors of spring are beginning to tempt our taste buds. Their bright, fruity and floral profiles are the perfect accompaniment to spring parties and get-togethers — and they make a fantastically rejuvenating treat after a morning of gardening or a day of hanging out at sporting events.

Brimming with either subtle or clear scents of lavender, lemon, berries and pineapples, these cool selections will have your mouth watering and your senses refreshed.

Lavender Lemonade

This simple, yet beautiful recipe includes:

4 cups, water
Juice of 2 lemons
Lavender simple syrup
1/2-cup sugar
Honey to taste
Lavender springs for garnish
Lemon slices for garnish

Make the lavender simple syrup by combining the sugar with 2 cups of water over high heat. Whisk sugar until mixture boils and sugar dissolves. Remove from heat. Stir in dried lavender and honey. When cooled, strain out lavender.

Combine the lavender syrup with the lemon juice in a large pitcher. Add garnish as desired.

Pineapple Cooler

To create this bright, cheerful concoction, you will need:

1 large pineapple, reduced to a crushed liquid form
1-1/4-cup, sugar
1/4-cup, lemon juice
4 cups, water

Combine ingredients in a large pot. Heat over medium for about 15 minutes. Strain the resulting mixture with a sieve. Serve over ice once cooled.

The simple flavor of this lovely drink is as good at quenching your imagination as it is for your thirst. It may just have the power to transport you to Hawaii.

The Country Living version is decorated with pretty herbs. Other variations blend in raspberries, strawberries or cranberries.
