Naki’o was abandoned as a puppy. When he was rescued, the malnourished pup had to have his toes amputated because of the severe frostbite from which he had suffered. As he grew, it became harder for Naki’o to walk; eventually having to be carried or wheeled from place to place. Thanks to all of the dedication and love Naki’o has received, he is now the first dog to have four prosthetic legs. His owner has also started a non-profit rescue organization, Nakio’s Underdog Rescue, to help other animals with disabilities.
