In many cases, once a soldier is no longer an active member of the military, they lose the very clearly defined sense of purpose, sense of community, and sense of self-worth which is present in their lives as soldiers.

Team Rubicon President and co-founder, Jake Wood, is a military veteran who identified 2 major problems that he wanted to address: inadequate disaster response worldwide and inadequate veteran reintegration.

With the knowledge that 92% of American veterans have the desire to continue their military service, Team Rubicon developed a system through which veterans would have the opportunity to serve while using their training, skills and experience to help others.

As a veteran service organization, Team Rubicon uses veterans to respond to disasters. While responding to disasters, these veterans regain a sense of self-worth, community, and purpose.
