Recipe: Honey-Baked Figs

Did you know that figs are an aphrodisiac? Did you know that honey is too? It looks like you’ve found the perfect dessert to enjoy with your Valentine. Indulge in something a little different this Valentine’s Day. Chocolate-covered strawberries are a classic, but NonStickSteel has romantic dessert idea that’s just as simple, fresh and sexy. Basically, this is the trifecta treat for Valentine’s Day!

What you’ll need

• 1 carton of fresh figs
• Honey
• Fresh or ground nutmeg
• Cured meats (optional)
• Artisanal cheeses (optional)

How it’s done

1. Slice each fig lengthwise.
2. Line a cookie sheet with aluminum foil.
3. Place the figs onto the pan, flat edge facing up.
4. Drizzle them with honey.
5. Grate fresh nutmeg (or sprinkle ground nutmeg) over the figs.
6. Bake in pre-heated oven at 325 degrees for about 20-25 minutes.
7. Serve alone or with your favorite cured meats and cheeses.
