The temperatures are falling (for most of us), and the air is becoming fresh and crisp. It’s the perfect time of year to get out and about and take in the beauty that comes with fall. Even if you’re not a nature fanatic, there are still some ways you can make fall a particularly spectacular season from the comfort of your own home. Here are a few ways that you can embrace this season both indoors and out:
1. Get creative with inspirational quotes
Winter brings the blues to a lot of people. Seasonal depression is real. So, a great way to make your home a positive and inspirational place as the darkest season approaches is to create some inspirational works of art. Find quotes that lift your spirits and that you find empowering. Paint, draw or sew them onto fabric, canvas or paper (or all 3!). Add some bright colors and frame or hang your masterpieces around your home. Positivity and creativity go a long way when it comes to boosting your mood!
2. Sign up for a fitness event
If you can’t handle the heat and humidity of summertime, or the brutal cold of winter, now’s your chance to enjoy the outdoors! Sign up for a themed 5K, a mud run, obstacle course or other event in your area that you can work towards. This way, you can get out in your community; walking, running, hiking and taking up other activities to get fit, stay fit, work toward your goal while enjoying the outdoors!
3. Eat bright seasonal fruits and veggies
Fall is full of color. The leaves aren’t the only bright part of this season. Butternut squash, pears, pumpkins, sweet potatoes, Brussels sprouts, beets and apples are just a few bright, natural, vitamin-filled goodies coming in to season around this time. Take advantage! They’re delicious and nutritious – after all, there’s more to life than chicken!
