Afghanistan War veteran Logan Stark is taking advantage of the GI Bill at Michigan State University where he is a part of the Professional Writing program. For a class project, he and two other classmates created For the 25, a documentary about his deployment to the extremely dangerous district of Sangin, Afghanistan. The 3rd Battalion 5th Marines took over operations from the British Royal Marines, shooting video footage throughout their tour of service. Men who served with Stark in Afghanistan were interviewed about their experiences. The men recount the painful and joyful times; and for that reason the subject matter and language can get pretty intense. Through the brotherhood, the mission and the War, 25 men didn’t return.  This video is a tribute for the fallen, part of the healing process for Stark, and a way to share the experiences of deployed troops with those who haven’t been through it.
