Developed in 2011, the goal is to help women, and widows in particular, who have no access to jobs or money. Rather than offering charitable handouts to these women in Aghanistan, Flying Scarfs aims to help these women help themselves, remaining independent. Each scarf is handmade and brings encouragement to the women who created them. Thankfully, the business is a great success in Afghanistan and is branching out to additional developing countries like Kenya and Haiti.
