David Sharpe is a former Senior Airman who was diagnosed with PTSD and mild depression. Sharpe served for 6 years in the United States Air Force Security Forces. He was deployed to Uzbekistan after 9/11 and some of his fellow Warriors didn’t make it back when he returned in March 2002. After seeing Sharpe’s anger, a friend suggested going to a pit bull rescue as a way to relieve stress and possibly find a companion. Sharpe saw this as an invitation for an aggressive dog. Upon arriving to the shelter, one dog in particular wouldn’t give him the time of day. It was Cheyenne. After bringing her home, Cheyenne began to see Sharpe punching holes in the wall and losing control. He began turning to Cheyenne for help and now credits her for saving his life.
