It’s pretty obvious that Rudimental‘s “Waiting All Night” is a great dance song, but what makes this song even better is its powerful music video. Talk about overcoming obstacles! Wounded Warriors and their spouses will be able to relate to this video of Kurt Yaeger, a professional BMX rider who was severely injured in a motorcycle accident in 2006 (shown as a BMX accident in the video) which resulted in the amputation of part of his left leg in addition to other severe injuries.  It must have been an extremely tough experience for this professional athlete, as war injuries are great obstacles for soldiers. He never lost hope. The video shows the emotional struggles which often take place with such severe injuries. Kurt stayed in the hospital for over three months.  When the physical recovery was under way, he made up his mind that this set-back wouldn’t defeat him. Fighting a battle like this isn’t a job for one man.  As you can see in the video, his support system was strong.  After months of physical therapy to learn to use his prosthetic leg, Kurt had to then re-train himself to ride a bike with the support of his close friends. He continues to ride bikes and motorcycles to this day, having made a full recovery. Since the accident, his acting career has also taken off, appearing in Dolphin Tale, Sons of Anarchy and General Hospital. We just want to give all of the patient and dedicated MilSpouses some encouragement, and to remind you that there is light at the end of the tunnel if your soldier or family are going through a tough period.  Stay strong and positive through these times and as you might already know, things tend to work out in the end.  Think back on inspirational stories like this one, turn up Rudimental’s encouraging tunes and you’ll find out, as Kurt did, that you’re a lot stronger than you thought.
