Hosting a get-together for your friends doesn’t have to cost a fortune. If your service member is deployed or away due to training, some support from your fellow Military Spouses is just what the doctor ordered!
Here are 5 great ways to plan the perfect girls night in on any budget:
Host a wine and cheese night
Put the little ones to bed and invite your crew over for some much needed girl time. Each guest should bring a bottle of their favorite wine. Slice up a block of your favorite cheese, and some cured meat. Serve with some fresh fruit – grapes are always a good choice – and let the girls night begin!
Have a makeover night
You probably remember those middle school or high school parties where you went over to your bestie’s house to enjoy some makeovers while listening to the hottest boy band of the moment. Why not re-live some tween fun! Now that you’re an adult, you can play with makeup, play those long lost tunes you loved long ago and enjoy a glass of wine while you’re at it!
Have a sappy movie night
It’s cliché. But, it’s so hard to resist a good rom-com! If you need some no-stress time to hang out with your friends, get the kiddos into bed, get your friends over and relax with the sappiest of films. Deployment is the perfect time for a sappy movie night. Your service member won’t roll their eyes at the suggestion and your girlfriends will be all over it, for sure! Love Actually, anyone?!
Enjoy a spa night
The spa is so expensive! Catch up with a group of your girlfriends in the comfort of your own home. Make some DIY face scrub, moisturizing hair masks and enjoy a glass of bubbly while giving each other manis and pedis.
Have a bake off
If you’re the hostess with the mostess, feel free to host a dinner party for your friends.
For those of us who prefer a more sugar-filled girls night in, host a baking party! It’s easier to plan, easier on the wallet, it’s kid friendly, dedicated to decadence and a room full of chocolate and cupcakes is pretty tough to resist.
