Just because the MPAA has assigned a rating to a movie doesn’t mean you still want your child seeing it. Choosing a movie for your child takes into account a lot of different topics. You may be okay with a couple swear words, but not violence. Or maybe it’s okay for them to see a quick shot of bare breasts but not to hear the F word. What you deem appropriate for your children is completely up to you and we’ve found a site that can help make these decisions a little easier.
Kids-In-Mind gives an in-depth review of various movies and outlines exactly what is shown. They rate the movie on sex and nudity, violence and gore, and profanity. The higher the score on a scale of 1 to 10, the more inappropriate it is for children. Each explicit scene is laid out in plain text so that you know what happens without having to watch the movie yourself. Let’s be honest, if you had to literately preview every movie that your kid wanted to see, your brain would just stop working.
