For this week’s Monday Career Series, Rachel shares her experiences with medical transcription and explains the various types of medical transcriptionists, also known as Healthcare Documentation Specialists or Medical Language Specialists in the biz.

With the option to work for medical facilities full-time and part-time, and the option to work from home 100%, medical transcription is a great portable career option for Military Spouses.  Pay is production based, so you’ll need to be able to type quickly. Research skills, interest in the medical field, ability to think on your toes, listening and a desire to continue learning and troubleshooting are key for this type of work.
