Below you’ll find 6 meals you can prepare in advance. Shesinherapron recommends preparing freezer meals that are fun and different, but familiar enough that your family will be super excited for them! Fill your zip top bags and store them in the freezer.  Empty the mixture into the crock pot the morning of the meal, and it’s as easy as that!

Honey Sesame Chicken (Paleo)

  • 1 lb. boneless skinless chicken thighs
  • 3 tbsp. olive oil
  • 1 cup honey
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp. sesame seed oil
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. pepper
Cook on low in your crock pot for 4-5 hours. Once cooked, shread the chicken, return to the sauce and serve over rice.  

Cilantro Lime Chicken with Corn and Black Beans

Divide each of the following in 1/2 before adding to bags because this recipe is enough to fill 2 zip top bags.
  • 6-8 boneless chicken breasts
  • 2 cups cilantro
  • 4 tbsp. olive oil
  • 2 limes juiced (about 6 tbsp.)
  • 2 cans black beans
  • 1 finely chopped red onion
  • Salt and pepper
  • 4 garlic cloves
  • 1 big bag frozen corn
  • 2 tsp. ground cumin
Cook on low in your crock pot for 8 hours or on high for 4 hours.  

The World’s Best Chicken

  • 3-4 lbs. boneless skinless chicken thighs
  • 1 tbsp. red wine vinegar
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup
  • 1/2 cup Dijon mustard
  • Salt and pepper
Mix the vinegar, syrup, mustard, salt and pepper in a bowl and then pour over the chicken. Cook on low in your crock pot for 8 hours or on high for 4 hours.  

Balsamic Glazed Drumsticks

  • 3 tbsp. coconut oil or olive oil
  • 1/2 cup balsamic vinegar
  • 3 tbsp. soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp. honey
  • 8 drumsticks
Mix the coconut oil, balsamic vinegar, soy sauce and honey in a bowl. Pour over chicken. Cook on low in your crock pot for 6-8 hours.  

Café Rio Chicken

  • 4-6 chicken breasts
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 tbsp. minced garlic (2 big cloves)
  • 3 tbsp. Ranch seasoning
  • 1/2 bottle zesty Italian dressing
  • 1/2 tbsp. chili powder
  • 1/2 tbsp. cumin
Cook on low in your crock pot for 4-6 hours.  

Sweet BBQ Chicken

  • 6 boneless skinless chicken thighs and 4 chicken drumsticks (you can also use chicken breasts)
  • 1/2 bottle BBQ sauce
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup white vinegar
  • 1/8 tsp. cayenne pepper
  • 1 tsp. garlic powder
Cook on low in your crock pot for 4-6 hours.
