Here are some great resources if you’re a parent of a Military child. One of our favorites is Sesame Street: Military Families Near and Far. They have some great videos to share with your little ones. What are other websites you find helpful?

Military Child Education Coalition

The work of the Military Child Education Coalition (MCEC) is focused on ensuring quality educational opportunities for all military children affected by mobility, family separation, and transition. A 501(c)(3) nonprofit, world-wide organization, the MCEC performs research, develops resources, conducts professional institutes and conferences, and develops and publishes resources for all constituencies.

National Military Family Association

They meet the needs of Servicemembers and their families with insightful recommendations, innovative programs, and grassroots efforts to better the quality of life for Military families.

Operation: Military Kids

Operation: Military Kids is the U.S. Army’s collaborative effort with America’s communities to support children and youth impacted by deployment. Regardless of whether families are experiencing deployment for the first time, the second time or another in a series of multiple deployments, OMK’s goal is to connect Military children and youth with local resources in order to achieve a sense of community support and enhance their well-being.

Our Military Kids

Our Military Kids provides tangible support to the children of deployed or severely injured National Guard and Military Reserve personnel through grants for sports, fine arts and tutoring that nurture and sustain the children during the time a parent is away in service to our country.

Zero to Three

Zero to Three works to increase awareness and collaboration throughout the Military community so that parents and professionals can more effectively care for very young children and their families.

United Through Reading

Founded in 1989, United Through Reading is a nonprofit 501 (c)(3) public benefit organization with a mission to unite Military families facing physical separation by facilitating the bonding experience of reading aloud together.

Military Kids Connect

MilitaryKidsConnect (MKC) is an online community of military children (ages 6-17) that provides access to age-appropriate resources to support children from pre-deployment, through a parent’s or caregiver’s return.

Military Youth on the Move

The Office of the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Military Community and Family Policy (MC&FP) is directly responsible for programs and policies establishing and supporting community quality of life (QOL) programs for servicemembers and their families worldwide.

Department of Veterans’ Affairs: Kids

This site gives support for kids K-5th grade and 6th-12th grade.
