DIY: Gingerbread Face Mask for a Healthy Winter Complexion

We expect to deplete our stocks by baking pies, spicing meats, and brewing homemade teas, yet, somehow the spice jars remain full and we’ve had our fill of holiday treats. Cinnamon contains antibacterial properties that eliminate the bacteria acne, so including some in your skincare routine can help clear up and holiday stress-induced breakouts. What’s more, cinnamon brings blood to the surface of your skin to cause minor plumping to help you look fresh-faced despite the whipping winter winds.
Ginger and nutmeg have skin-boosting properties, as well. The both contain antioxidants that can improve the appearance of both hypopigmentation and hyperpigmentation that can be left behind by acne, scars, and sun damage. These amazing benefits, when combined with soothing and hydrating honey, oats, and Greek yogurt, make for the perfect addition to your winter skincare routine.
Gingerbread Face Mask
- 1 1/2 Tbsp cinnamon
- 1 Tbsp ginger powder
- 1 tsp nutmeg
- 1 1/2 Tbsp honey
- 1/2 cup oats
- 1-2 spoonfuls Greek yogurt
- Mix all the ingredients together in a small bowl.
- Spread the mixture evenly over your face and neck.
- Let dry for 10-15 minutes, then wash away.
