Sometimes it’s easier said than done to pull yourself out of old habits and the usual routines to shake up your lifestyle in ways that can make you feel great. Here are 5 simple ways to get healthier, happier and feeling your best!

Drink Tea

Teas are full of antioxidants, which can naturally prevent and repair your skin and other tissues in your body.  They also neutralize free radicals that play a part in heart-disease, cancer and other unwanted health problems you’ll most definitely want to avoid.  Some teas (green tea in particular) contains a specific type of antioxidant that can burn fat as fuel, helping you make the most of your exercise routines if consumed regularly with regular exercise.

Due to the caffeine in teas, you’ll be able to focus and think clearly throughout the day.  While you’re hard at work, taking care of your day-to-day responsibilities, you’ll also be doing your metabolism a favor. Teas like Oolong can boost your metabolism and subdue cravings throughout the day.

And of course, everything in moderation. Too much of a good thing can actually bring out some negative effects. In the case of tea, caffeine could lead to sleep troubles. Have a cup or two (not five) daily to stay healthy and feeling your best!

Leave it at the Gym

If you’re making a conscious effort to get to the gym daily, leave something there you’ll need each morning to get ready for the day (or each evening that will help you relax from your day). Leave your hairdryer at the gym so you’ll have to get up, go workout and shower in time to get your hair dry and ready for the day!

That special ‘key to your fitness’ is one major detail you can’t live without daily. It could be a phone charger, hair brush, hair dryer, razor or something else that’s not too valuable (after all, you’ll be keeping it in a gym locker) that will keep you on your toes each and every day!

Commit to a Realistic Goal

You’re committed to your spouse. You’re committed to your kids. You’re committed to a lot of things in your life. Now it’s time to commit to something to benefit your own well-being. Don’t make multiple goals that aren’t realistic – you’ll be setting yourself up for disappointment.

Focus on one goal at a time. Getting fit and staying fit, patience, positivity, saving a certain amount of money, cooking 5 days a week, planning some time alone with your spouse, etc. Set goals that you know you can achieve that will make you feel like a better person. If you overwhelm yourself with multiple self-improvement goals, odds are that none of them will be achieved to 100%. Once you do achieve your goal, you’ll feel accomplished and inspired to set bigger and better goals.

Detox

There are multiple ways to detox your body in a healthy way. Juice cleanses are a popular way of feeling refreshed and rejuvenated. A more relaxing way to detox is to take a detox bath. All you’ll need is Epsom salt and baking soda, hot water and the desire to cleanse your body and your mind. Sounds pretty nice doesn’t it!? Check out these additional detox bath methods.

Push the Pedometer

If you’re trying to add small changes to lead a healthier life, a pedometer is a great tool to help you measure your daily movement. A goal of 10,000 steps per day is a good aim for healthy daily movement. This is also an excellent motivation tool, inspiring you to increase your movement each day or week and try new ways to get moving.
