When is the last time you looked in your fridge for a beauty treatment — one made of something white and goopy that many people shy away from eating because it tends to contain ingredients that go against their diet plans? Yep. It may sound strange at first, but a mayonnaise facial can have surprising beauty effects.

How to Do It: 

1)    Set aside about ½-cup of mayonnaise at room temperature. Optional: For dry, blemished skin, add 2 Tbsp. of honey to the mayonnaise.

2)    Wash your face thoroughly with a gentle cleanser and pat dry.

3)    Apply a thick layer of the mayonnaise to your face using your fingers, avoiding your eyes.

4)    Relax for 15-20 minutes.

5)    Rinse with warm water, using a circular motion to help slough off dead skin cells. Pat dry.

That’s it!

Keep in mind: A mayonnaise masque is a great way to keep your skin glowing, but be sure not to overdo it. Once a week is perfect.

If you prefer to try a yogurt masque instead, the recipe is equally as simple. Just add honey to 1 Tbsp. of plain yogurt, smooth it on your face and sleep with it on overnight. Wash it off with warm water when you awaken to reveal your refreshed skin.
